They will be talking about IFRS: fair value and Mark to Market concepts: advantages and drawbacks in a volatile financial environment. This approach has led to quite a lot of controversy recently, specifically in the context of the bank turmoil. During the last World Economic Forum in Davos, various world leaders accused those accounting rules of being responsible for an increased volatility and of reinforcing the current crisis.
